The town of Injune is situated in a remote area in the upper catchment of the Dawson River in Queensland.
There are between 70 and 80 students from Prep to Year 10 at the school and there are about 400 people in the town, with another 1,000 people in the surrounding district (drawing on an approximate radius of 20km). The community is part of the Maranoa Regional Council and is 91km north of Roma.
