Last Thursday and Friday, the Year 2 class had the opportunity to go on a one night camp to Columboola Environmental Education Centre. On the way, we stopped at Miles Historical Village. We learned about what it was like in the past and we really enjoyed the ‘Where’s William’ hunt.
After we set up our tents at Columboola, we made damper and built huts with planks of wood. Later on Thursday night, we learned about the stars and got to look at the moon through a telescope! We saw the constellation called Scorpio and lots of craters on the full moon.
Friday morning, we explored a low ropes course. Some of us even went backwards on one of the obstacles! This required a lot of team work and resilience. Lastly, we learned about an Aboriginal painting, did some drawings of our own and spent some time yabbying. Ruby got a bite from a huge yabby but we didn't end up catching it. A big thank you to Mrs Williams and Miss Murphy for taking us on camp and for planning a really fun trip!
