Weekly Classroom Feature: Five Weeks Down, Five to Go!

Billy Cart Club is officially ‘Rock ‘n’ and Rolling’ with the Year 3/4 starting to build their crazy contraptions. Using everything from planks of wood – kindly donated by Mr Nowlan - to twine and old rocking chairs, the students are well under way. Unfortunately, for some children, the harsh reality of not being able to build  a  two-storey  monster   truck  cart  with  After burners  and  flaming pipes has hit home, and designs have been simplified.

For students not wishing to build   Billy Carts, Miss Beth is teaching a class on how to decorate and sew pillowcases. The students are    learning to print screen, tie-dye, fabric paint, and embellish all sorts of  materials.  Using   the   Sewing   Machines   in  the  Home Economics, the children will explore stitching patterns and joining techniques.

Billy Carts and Pillows will be show cased at an end of term ‘Picnic Afternoon’. The students will have the opportunity to race their Billy Carts and show-off their sewing skills. Further information about this afternoon will be released closer to the date.
